I’VE RECENTLY become an aunt to the most adorable twin girls and therefore find myself constantly cooing and sighing over any miniature piece of clothing, so I was delighted when I was contacted out of the blue by Maria Owens. Maria runs the most delightful shop with baby products in the region of Le Marche and we find out about her bold and rewarding move to Italy with her husband Tony and their young family. In this issue we also meet several other people with particularly interesting stories to tell, in the form of feisty Alex Hai, the only female gondolier, who literally had to fight for years to be accepted to work her Venetian pitch. Then there’s the charming and gracious Mother Miriam, a Benedictine Nun from Molise, who gives us her secret Easter recipes and last but by no means least we find out what the glamorous and controversial MP Vladimir Luxuria is delighted by.
